# Pricing Overview

### How does CAASie pricing work?

Just like Google Ads and Facebook ads, CAASie works on a cost-per-play basis instead of fixed bookings and contracts. This model allows CAASie to function with lower campaign costs and on-the-fly campaigns.

The platform runs on a prepaid credit system. Your organisation loads credit into your account, and then the cost of each ad play is deducted from your account credit balance. This gives you greater freedom to control your spending in real time.

By default, CAASie will take the reins, averaging your budget amongst your chosen boards and campaign period. You can, at any time, manually change this yourself. We only recommend manual changes if you are confident you know why you are making them and how it affects your campaign.

You can read more about the difference between budget and credit [here](/billing/credit-vs-budget.md).

### What is a bid on CAASie?

Although CAASie has access to over a million billboards, it is not the same as booking through a publisher directly. When you use CAASie you are 'bidding' for the unsold space a publisher has available. Actual cost-per-play may vary based on competition, but CAASie will calculate a 'bid cap' — a maximum cost-per-play — to prevent overspending with your budget. If the cost of your board exceeds the bid cap, your ad will not play on this board unless the price lowers.

The availability of these spaces is not always consistent. In order to help you work out a board's availability, CAASie has designed a signal system to indicate how frequently that board asks CAASie for an ad to play.

The more availability a board has, the more frequently your ad will play on it.

You can read more about the signal [here](/navigating-caasie/caasie-colour-codes.md).

### How much do boards cost on CAASie?

Prices are often variable, with several factors influencing the cost per play, such as board demand, venue type, venue location, etc.

Expect that a billboard in the middle of the CBD will cost more than a screen in a private gym venue.

To assist with planning your budget, CAASie includes the average cost per play when selecting boards for a base guideline. The average is not indicative of every instance, but it is a good reference for understanding how much your campaign is likely to spend (budget permitting).

Because your campaign is actively bidding on space, higher demand boards will cost more per play, regardless of venue type.

The calculated cost of each play includes the supplier floor rate, CAASie margin, GST (as applicable) and a transaction fee. There are no hidden or extra fees to run your campaign.
