# Budget & Spend Pacing

### What is my CAASie wallet?

This is where your pre-paid credit is stored in your account. This is not your budget.

### What is a Budget on CAASie?

Your campaign budget is the limit you set on how much your campaign will spend; either over it's total duration or on an hourly/daily basis.

The budget you input will influence how often your ads will play on your selected boards. More budget per hour = More ad plays per hour.

Once the campaign's budget has been reached, your campaign will cease playing until you increase your budget.

You can modify your campaign budget at any time in the 'spend control' tab of your campaign dashboard.

### What is a Spend Limit on CAASie?

A spend limit sets the maximum amount your campaign can spend overall. It works just like a total budget - the difference is that it’s designed for ongoing campaigns without a fixed end date. Once your campaign reaches this limit, it pauses until you raise it.

### What is the spend rate on CAASie?

The 'spend rate' refers to how fast or slowly your campaign will spend its budget.

By default, this is automatically calculated by CAASie using the active hours of your schedule and your campaign budgets to work out how much your campaign can safely spend at any point in time to make the most out of your budget.

It helps pace your campaign so it doesn’t burn through funds too fast (or too slow).

#### For a fixed duration campaign (has end date)

When campaigns are set to automatic pacing, CAASie will follow an average hourly spend rate based on total budget and length of campaign. \
\
You can choose your own pacing settings instead, but CAASie will no longer adjust spending to match the campaign end date. This means the campaign may spend its budget too quickly and end early, or finish with budget remaining.

#### For ongoing campaigns (no end date)

You will set your own hourly (60 min) **or** daily (24 hour) budget. CAASie will automatically manage spend pacing within those time periods, but does not work towards a total campaign budget or end date.

### What is a bid cap on CAASie?

A bid cap is the maximum amount you’re willing to pay per play or impression in the auction. It tells CAASie, “I want visibility, but don’t spend more than this per spot.”

Setting a bid cap that’s too low can exclude your ads from many screens or prevent delivery altogether. It’s best to use bid caps only if you have performance data to guide your decision. Otherwise, let CAASie optimise bids automatically for the best results.
